Two Cork companies working at the cutting-edge of renewable energy have won places on a flagship EU Green Deal project testing the future potential of wind, wave and solar generating.
Cork-based Exceedence and Simply Blue Group will play a big part in the in the €45.7m, 4-year project which has just got the green light to start constructing the world's first, large scale multi-function offshore renewable energy 'parks'.
If successful, the projects off the coasts of Belgium and Portugal will provide the blueprint for mixed wind and wave and floating solar energy generation projects.
Exceedence is a renewable energy company specialising in technical financial software stemming from decades of expertise in offshore renewables.
Dr Ray Alcorn, CEO of Exceedence
