The Marine Ireland Industry Network (MIIN) is made up of a diverse array of companies, state organisations, research groups and higher education institutes, working in Ireland’s blue economy. The Network was established in 2016 with the aim of bringing together the many elements of Marine Ireland. Since its inception, it has enhanced the overall understanding of what the Irish marine capabilities are, the services and products on offer and the markets being served.
The multi-stakeholder steering group, led by Liam Curran at Enterprise Ireland and the Marine Institute, who oversee the coordination of MIIN and its activities and initiatives. These are focussed on building collaboration and providing opportunities for member companies to showcase their products, services, recent achievements and successes to industry, researchers and international companies. The network’s tools such as this website, directory and social media platforms, help showcase MIIN nationally and internationally, thereby offering a vantage point where national capabilities in the marine and maritime sectors (Ireland’s Blue Edge) can be showcased under the Marine Ireland brand identity.
Participating organisations in the MIIN Steering Group: Marine Institute and its Irish Maritime Development Office, Enterprise Ireland, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, Údarás na Gaeltachta, IDA Ireland, Bord Iascaigh Mhara, MaREI Centre, NMCI, Simply Blue Energy, XOCEAN, Techworks Marine, Gavin and Doherty Geosolutions, Dublin Offshore, and a number of other Irish Marine SMEs.
