Call for papers for Ocean and Society Special Issue exploring governance challenges and opportunities of co-location in marine management

As offshore renewables, fisheries, aquaculture, conservation, and maritime transport increasingly compete for limited ocean space, concepts such as co-location and co-existence are gaining prominence in marine governance. But how can shared use of marine space be designed, governed, and implemented in ways that are equitable, effective, and sustainable?
Invitations are open to contribute to a special issue of Ocean and Society exploring the governance challenges and opportunities of co-location in marine management. We welcome conceptual, empirical, and comparative papers addressing legal, political, social, institutional, and participatory dimensions.
Topics can include:
- Marine Spatial Planning and governance frameworks
- Offshore renewables, fisheries, aquaculture, and conservation interactions
- Environmental restoration and ecosystem governance
- Citizen science, Indigenous and local knowledge, and participatory approaches
- Comparative and Global South perspectives
