September 2023 closed with Cara Offshore supporting operations in Germany and Norway, as well as conducting operations in the UK, India and Singapore. Barry Ward, as Nearshore Manager, was responsible for the installation of seabed strengthening and cable protection material in Fensfjorden, Norway.
This operation involved the charter of Briggs Marine Multicat, Forth Warrior, which installed cable protection from shore out to 60m water depth. The operation was assisted by the vessel Notav from which an ROV positioned and surveyed the mattress as they were landed on the seabed, with divers on standby for any emergencies.
Simultaneously, David Williams and Shane Heverin operated as Nearshore Managers on a back-to-back basis on Borwin 5, with a team of 10 Cara Offshore personnel supporting diving and trenching operations from the Shaolbuster Brutus. In the later stages of the installation Shane took over as Offshore Manager until demobilisation from the project.
These concurrent operations demonstrate Cara Offshore’s ability to deliver multiple complex projects involving vessel coordination, diving, cable trenching and other subsea operations in the demanding North Sea environment.
Director Shane Heverin said “We are proud to have delivered these projects without any LTIs, and in a safe and efficient manner. The professionalism of our staff enables us to consistently exceed the targets that we have set ourselves” with Director Barry Ward adding “these recent large-scale projects demonstrate the trust that is placed upon the company, and to be able to meet client demands at this early stage is a source of excitement for us all.”
