Subsea Micropiles to Showcase Pioneering Technology at Floating Offshore Wind Conference

MIIN Members Subsea Micropiles will join industry leaders at the Floating Offshore Wind Conference at P&J Live, Aberdeen, on 12–13 November 2025, to showcase their leading adaptation of terrestrial micropiling technology to the offshore construction sector for high-performance seabed foundations and anchors.

During the event, James Smith, Senior Project Manager at Subsea Micropiles, will share insights from the company’s landmark project with the Orkney Harbour Authority (OHA). His presentation will showcase a behind the scenes look into the three-year journey, from early design concepts through testing, offshore installation, and successful project delivery. The presentation will take place on Thursday 13 November in Conference Suite 2B at 2:20pm.

The OHA project represents a major milestone for Subsea Micropiles. Following an intensive R&D programme backed by significant long-term investment, the company achieved a world-first with the installation of a commercial drilled and grouted micropile anchor for OHA.

Their innovative approach to soil interventions delivers significant opportunities to reduce costs and manage risk across every stage of development and throughout the life of the field. This expertise supports a wide range of applications, including the next generation of larger offshore wind turbines for both fixed and floating platforms. The company’s technology enables construction using smaller vessels and remotely operated seabed drilling systems, subsequently cutting costs, reducing environmental impact, and supporting local supply chains.

Subsea Micropiles’ presence at Floating Offshore Wind 2025 highlights its ongoing commitment to advancing Scotland’s clean energy future and leading the development of anchoring solutions for the offshore wind industry.
