Cork based Irish Mainport Holdings have signed a long term charter with a new customer, N-Sea for the provision of a newbuild hybrid survey and ROV support vessel.
Mainport is a leading provider of integrated marine services to the energy sector. This investment by Eurazeo funds the construction of one hybrid survey vessel, a state-of-the-art low consumption vessel designed to support the growing European offshore wind market. The vessel will be employed under a long-term contract with established operator N-Sea.
This vessel financing is the first offshore wind survey vessel financed by Eurazeo Sustainable Maritime Infrastructure (ESMI) fund for the Irish Mainport Holdings, in collaboration with Eurozeo's advisor Elbe Financial Solutions (EFS).
According to Afloat.ie the 41.2m newbuild will be named Geo Master and is based on the proven design of the Geo Ranger, which is currently owned and operated by N – Sea. The new vessel will have similar equipment, with a construction period scheduled to take around 12 months.
Geo Master will be a new and important contribution to the growth ambitions of the sub-sea solutions provider N-Sea Group, as the newbuild will be upgraded to meet the latest standards, including fuel efficient and low emissions.
The new ship is reported to be built at the Dutch shipyard in Hardinxveld-Giessendam with a scheduled delivery for the first quarter of 2026 and will be operational by mid-March 2026.
As part of Mainport's long-term charter agreement, N-Sea will have the survey and ROV support vessel under full commercial management and control.
