ASL Safety & Training completes first ever Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Offshore Wind Turbine Technician Training

ASL Safety & Training (Renewables) has announced that it has recently completed the first ever Offshore Renewables Wind Turbine Technician Training programme in conjunction with the Green Tech Skillnet and Wind Energy Ireland.
Following completion of the intensive training programme which included Sea Survival, Vessel Transfer, Slinger Signaller, Enhanced First Aid and many other International GWO components, all participants are now ready to go and start careers in the burgeoning wind industry in either Onshore of Offshore roles.
The programme was delivered at ASL’s dedicated training centre at Kish Business Park in Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
Following completion of the programme, Mark Corcoran, MD at ASL said;
“We were very proud to have delivered this first ever Offshore oriented Wind Turbine Technician Training Programme from our base in Arklow, County Wicklow, in the Garden Of Ireland.
With a strong pipeline of Offshore Wind Projects getting closer to construction, we are delighted to be doing our bit to help prepare our own local Irish workforce and give them some of the skills that will be needed as this industry opens up, ASL will be continuing our investment in this area and associated technologies and training. We will be seeking to collaborate with other bodies as the industry continues to grow."
