Irish Lights is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer.

If you are a qualified, experienced engineer with a background in electrical engineering that enjoys working with bespoke systems and engineering oddities then this is the role for you. THE ROLE

As the Design and Support Engineer – Electrical, you will provide professional engineering input, particularly in relation to electrical and electronic engineering and electronic communication systems. You will report to the Engineering Design, Consent and Compliance Manager and work in the Design Team as part of the Coastal Operations Department.

In the role you will play a key role in the design, costing and implementation of a range of transformative engineering projects, including new or replacement designs for lighthouse electrical systems such as navigation lights, communications and power. You will maintain a strong technical knowledge on equipment and techniques related to Irish Lights activities and you will also propose new projects and assist with technology assessments, environmental developments, risk assessments and safe work procedures.

THE REQUIREMENTS

You must have a degree, or equivalent professional qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. You will need to have experience in design, technical writing, and technical operations management along with a knowledge of electrical standards and renewable energy, control systems and modern light technology.

You will need a strong track record of team building and leadership along with excellent communication and people skills. You will also need strong ICT skills are required.

If you have experience of working with data centres, defense or offshore this role may suit you.

THE BENEFITS

The salary for this role will commence at €57,126 rising to €65,796.
