Community Liaison Coordinator Role with BlueWise Marine

About the Business

BlueWise Marine develops, manages and promotes marine and offshore renewable projects and initiatives for its clients. We work with industry, government and academic clients operating within the marine economy. One of our client projects is the promotion and support for the SmartBay Marine & Renewable Energy Test Site, which is used to trial and validate Ocean Energy devices and marine sensors and equipment.

About the Role

The Community Liaison Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all community liaison and engagement related activities for the SmartBay Marine and Renewable Energy Test Site and for providing project support to the BlueWise Marine team. The successful candidate shall facilitate communication and engagement with residents, community groups, schools, local businesses and interested parties with the view to increasing local understanding and support for the SmartBay Marine and Renewable Energy Test Site.

The position will be based within the An Spidéal locality and/or working remotely in line with current COVID-19 government guidelines.

Term: The position is for a period of up to 3 years subject to funding.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent experience in Communications and/or Community Development or a related subject
  • Written and verbal fluency in both English and Irish
  • Previous experience in a community focused and/ or marine related role desirable
  • Excellent communication skills across all channels with an attention to detail, including content creation, copy writing and proof reading
  • Experience working in a public facing role, managing complaints or customer queries desirable
  • Experience in planning and managing events desirable
  • Understanding and experience of community social dynamics
  • Experienced networker & relationship builder
  • Experience in managing digital media accounts/ updating internal or external websites
  • Demonstrated project management experience desirable
  • High level of report writing and presentation skills
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Drivers licence
