The role of the Sustainability Officer is to facilitate the embedding of sustainability criteria and an understanding of the critical important of sustainability with grantees across the EMFAF programme. All four priorities under Article 3 of the EMFAF regulations set out sustainability as a key pillar of the programme with a range of objectives many of which will be new and poorly understood by the seafood sector. Working the colleagues across BIM, the successful candidate will devise and assess sustainability criteria including “climate proofing” and “energy efficiency first” for all EMFAF Schemes and will develop methodologies to assess the impact and outcomes of those commitments, reporting on them periodically and making recommendations for amendments as appropriate. As a Sustainability Officer, they will be expected to work on sustainability planning across BIM and provide technical advice. This role is in support of the implementation of the sustainability objectives of EMFAF.
