Port of Galway are hiring for a Marine Pilot at the Port of Galway, to join their team! Apply by 18th July 2025
Job Requirements:
Applicants should possess a valid STCW (regulation II/2) Certificate of Competency (Deck) on vessels of 500gt or more and be sailing in the position of Chief Officer / Master or possess an STCW (regulation II/1) OOW Unlimited Certificate and have recent experience in handling/ manoeuvring marine craft in a port environment may be considered.
The candidate must be qualified to operate within the Irish Mercantile Marine.
Proof that he or she has not less than 6 years seagoing experience and has acted as Master or Chief Officer for at least 6 months.
The successful applicant must permanently reside within 10 kilometres of the Office of the Harbour Master at Port of Galway
Applicants must have a legal entitlement to work in Ireland and a proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing the English language.
The Port of Galway reserves the right to shortlist candidates and / or form a panel for future vacancies.
