ATU 3-year postdoctoral position available for BRICONS project

ATU are recruiting for a 3-year postdoctoral position to be an integral member of the new and ambitious native oyster reef restoration BRICONS Research Project funded by the Marine Institute. Deadline: 9th May 2025 12 noon
The successful postdoctoral researcher will be based at Atlantic Technological University Galway City, Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, and the Marine and Freshwater Research Centre.
They will integrate their research to support the wider aims of the project in the BRICONS group along with out partners in UCD, TCD and QUB. They will play a key role in the project, refining and leading underwater monitoring and restoration protocols in our survey sites in the Irish west coast to be trialed at other sites in Ireland, working and supporting postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers based at other BRICONS experimental sites in Dublin Bay and Belfast Harbour making this the first all Ireland native oyster reef restoration project.
The candidate will be working with me and other members of my team currently studying biogenic reef habitat ecology and restoration approaches in Connemara, Co. Galway, and will be supported by and working closely with our collaborators in the OISRE Conamara Project, Comharchumann Sliogéisc Chonamara Teo and Údarás na Gaeltachta Research Ireland.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven marine ecologist with field experience in habitat restoration and conservation, CMAS *** or equivalent scuba diving qualifications, and a full, clean EU/Irish driving license.🤿
