BioAtlantis receives ‘Smart Technology Innovation Award’ at 2024 Tech Industry Alliance Awards

BioAtlantis, a leading biotechnology company based in Tralee, County Kerry, has been awarded the Smart Technology Innovation Award at the 2024 Tech Industry Alliance Awards.
This prestigious accolade highlights the company's commitment to science and innovation, particularly in the development of its highly successful ‘Molecular Priming’ technology, SuperFifty® Prime. This technology aids farmers in mitigating the effects of climate change by protecting crops from abiotic stresses such as cold, drought, heat and waterlogging, promoting more sustainable agricultural practices. Field trials in the UK demonstrate a 13% average increase in potato yields through the use of SuperFifty® Prime, offering a solid Return on Sustainable Investment (ROSI) for crop growers. The technology has been validated through multiple EU projects and published in several high-impact peer-reviewed scientific journals.
The awards celebrated the dynamic tech sector in South West Ireland, recognizing local companies and organizations at the forefront of innovation. The event, held at the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney on November 29, 2024, brought together the region’s top entrepreneurs, innovators, and thought leaders. This achievement underscores BioAtlantis' significant contributions to the biotechnology sector and its role in advancing Ireland’s Blue Bioeconomy. Since its foundation in 2004, BioAtlantis has expanded rapidly, serving customers in over 35 countries. The company’s scientific expertise has driven its success, delivering natural, effective, and sustainable technologies aimed at increasing crop yields in the face of climate challenges.
BioAtlantis’ R&D and production facilities are based in Tralee, Co. Kerry, where it drives the development of environmentally friendly solutions in agriculture. The company manufactures products using natural compounds sustainably derived from marine and terrestrial sources, such as seaweed. The company employs over 50 people at its Tralee base.
