P&O Maritime are currently recruiting for a Deckhand to join their team on board the RV Celtic Explorer/RV Tom Crean.

About the Role:

To assist in the safe operation of all deck equipment, scientific equipment and the maintenance and cleanliness of the deck department as directed by the Chief Officer or Bosun.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold as a minimum a Watch rating Certificate, STCW Reg II/4. STCW Reg II/5 Able Seafarer Deck and advantage.
  • All STCW certification – EEA Seafarers Medical, Discharge Book, Watch Rating, Fire Fighting, First Aid, PST, PSSR, CPSC, Designated Duties (ISPS).
  • Due to the nature of vessel operations experience in fishing experience including the handling of fishing equipment is desirable.
  • Previous experience on research vessels an advantage.
