About the role
The 2nd Engineer will undertake duties in engine room management and maintenance, whilst either watchkeeping or on day work as determined by the vessel’s activities.

Qualifications and experience:

• Minimum 2nd Engineer Unlimited Certificate of Competency – Motorships
• Chief Engineer COC/CEC Unlimited is preferable but not essential
• All STCW 95 short course certification incl. Seafarers Ship Medical (ENG11 or equivalent)
• Hold a certificate of Equivalent Competency CEC to serve on ships registered in Ireland
• Experience with Diesel Electric Propulsion, medium / high speed diesel engines and Research Vessel operations is desirable but not essential
• Experience with electronic planned maintenance systems – e.g. NSE
