Vessel Master/USV Pilot
Closing Date: 10 April 2023
Position: Vessel Masters / USV (Uncrewed Surface Vessel)
Pilots Qualification: Maritime Qualification - Navigation
Location:Â Remote: Ireland & UK
Contract: Fixed Term Contract; Up to 9 months
Main Duties & Responsibilities
The USV Master has the ultimate and overriding authority and the responsibility to make decisions, with respect to safety and pollution prevention and to request the Company’s assistance as necessary. The USV Master / Pilot must ensure that the USV is operated within the confines of XOCEANs Business Processes (Management System) at all times.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out duties ensuring the safety of navigation during all USV operations.
- Monitoring and providing communications to the Marine & Project Management.
- Preparing and assisting in the completion of relevant documentation within the management systems.Â
- Ensuring that the USV equipment is fully functional and report defects immediately.Â
- Maintaining the USV official record logbooks correctly.
- Monitoring and reporting on all weather systems for the operation. Â
- Planning, preparing and exporting Passage plans to the USVs.
- Upkeep and updating of the Navigational planner.
- Assisting with the assessment and implementation of survey routes and monitoring the quality of data being collected during survey operations (training will be given).
- Has overall responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of all personnel directly involved with the physical operations of the USV.
- Reviewing Operational Risk Assessments and ensuring that they have appropriate and sufficient mitigations
- Any other duties as required by the Marine Superintendent / Deputy.
Online Surveyor
Closing Date: 14 April 2023
Position: Online Surveyor
Qualification: Hydrographic Surveyor Qualification –Cat B or equivalent.
Location:Â Remote in UK, Ireland, Canada or Norway
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:Â
- Online surveying on projects remotely and in shifts
- Quality Control – monitoring of the data being captured using online survey tools and feeding back to senior surveyor.
- Assisting with maintaining the administration related to daily activities and calibrations.
- Assisting senior surveyors with assessment of survey results and adjustment of survey plan as required.Â
- Assisting senior surveyors with Survey Planning
- Data processing and quality control of survey data, creating final deliverables to a high standard.Â
- Prepare reports and produce data for delivery within stated deadlines.
- Small tasks befitting the running of the survey department.
Data Processor
Closing Date: 14 April 2023
Position: Â Data Processor
Qualification:Â A higher education degree in hydrographic surveying or related science-based subject.
Location:Â Remote in UK, Ireland, Canada, or Norway
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Survey data processing and reporting, in a shift pattern when required.
- Develop and verify automated processing processes.
- Diligent log keeping and data management.
- Planning of processing workflow to meet project requirements.
- Survey software Setup – offline hardware and software setup prior to project start up.
- Quality Control – monitoring of the data being captured and feed back to online surveyors.
- Preparation of technical reports and production of data for delivery within stated deadlines to a high standard.
- Data processing planning and progress tracking.
- Small tasks befitting the running of the data processing department.
Shallow Marine Geophysicist
Closing Date: 14 April 2023
Position: Â Shallow Marine Geophysicist
Qualification:Â Degree in Geoscience or Geophysics
Location:Â Remote in UK, Ireland, Canada, or Norway
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Remote data acquisition and processing of MBES, Side-scan Sonar, & shallow 2D Sub-bottom Sensors.
- Online surveying on projects in shifts.
- Side scan sonar data processing including seabed picking, interpretation, production of mosaic and seabed features
- Shallow 2D Seismic processing and interpretation.
- Support Lead Geophysicist with Survey PlanningÂ
- Survey System Setup – hardware and software configuration prior to vessel mobilisation on a project.
- Quality Control – monitoring of the data being captured using online survey tools.
- Assessment of survey results and adjustment of survey plan as required.
- Data processing and quality control of survey geophysical data, creating final deliverables to a high standard.
- Report writing and client interaction.
