EuroMarine Call for Foresight Workshops (FSW) – Deadline approaching 31/08/2022
EuroMarine Foresight Workshops (FSW) provide an opportunity for research teams to scope and collaborate on an existing or emerging topic in marine science research. Workshops should take an innovative, “horizon scanning” approach to their topic and should target a scientific publication as an intended outcome. A maximum of €10,000 is available for each funded workshop.

Foresight Workshop Eligibility Criteria
- FSW proposals should have a clear foresight dimension and target a scientific publication. While the call is open to any topic, the Steering Committee would welcome proposals addressing EuroMarine priorities, as defined in EuroMarine's 2018 publication Ocean Frontiers for Sustainable Development Manifesto. Additionally, topics related to initiatives within the All Atlantic Strategy and Pledge are welcome.
- Proposals should involve at least three EuroMarine Full Member Organisations from at least two different countries. FSW should have well-defined outcomes (e.g., synthesis paper, position paper, strategy document).
- All FWS are expected to yield publications (at a minimum, a position paper, to be submitted within 12 months of the completion of the FWS).
Application Process
- Applicants should refer to the full text of the call and the terms and conditions of funding (see documents here).
- Applicants must submit a completed proposal template by email to both secretariat@euromarinenetwork.eu and director@euromarinenetwork.eu before the specified closing date. All applications will receive a confirmation email acknowledging submission.
- Proposals will be reviewed for scientific excellence by EuroMarine referees. The EuroMarine Steering Committee will make final decisions.
- Activities funded by EuroMarine are open (within budget and logistic constraints) to all EuroMarine members. Each of the funded activities will be highlighted on the EuroMarine website and announced to EuroMarine members.
