Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine - 2021 Call for Research Proposals

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) invites applications for funding under its Competitive Research Funding Programme for research that is neither commissioned nor carried out in-house by individual companies. All eligible Research Performing Organisations are invited to submit proposals. The results of the research will be made available for the benefit of the agri-food and forest sectors, the consumer and policymakers.

The DAFM Thematic Research Call 2021 Call Specification – see download contains a specific thematic areas as follows:

  1. Climate, Environment, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
  2. Smart Sustainable Animal & Plant Production, Health & Welfare
  3. Rural Economy & Sustainable Development, Data & Agri-Digitalisation & Circular Bioeconomy that may be of specific interest.
  4. Safe, Healthy Food for Human Nutrition.
  5. Smart Food Processing and Manufacturing

The broad thematic approach will allow researchers to build a bottom proposal addressing the objectives across multiple areas in support of the agri-food, forest and bio-based sectors. Closing date for project proposals is 28th Feb 2021.
