EC launches Vision 2040 for Fisheries and Aquaculture

The European Commission has launched its Vision 2040 for Fisheries and Aquaculture, setting out plans to strengthen the environmental and economic viability of the sector across Europe.
The strategy aims to improve access to finance, support small-scale fishermen, strengthen research and innovation, introduce harmonised training and certification standards, and develop a Blue Generational Renewal Strategy.
A major element of the vision is the energy transition, supporting a move towards a more efficient and low-carbon future.
