Regional Portfolio Call: Addressing Atlantic Ocean Coastal Resilience in Practice
The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership, a European Partnership under the European Commission's Horizon Europe, is pleased to announce the Regional Portfolio Call for Expressions of Interest focusing on the Atlantic Ocean and the topic of "addressing Atlantic Ocean coastal resilience in practice". This Call aim to connect ongoing projects to create and boost networking activities at the sea-basin scale, for a 2-year period from early 2027 to early 2029.
The call text can be found here.
With SBEP's support, the Regional Portfolios are expected to increase synergies and information sharing, reduce duplication, strengthen collaboration with key regional stakeholders, and respond to the challenges and opportunities identified at the regional level. By reaching a critical mass of projects focusing on similar themes, the Regional Portfolio Action will contribute to leveraging the projects’ impact at the regional and European levels by e.g. providing efficient scientific support for strategic and political decision-making, whilst also addressing regional research gaps and avoiding duplication.
The Atlantic Ocean Regional Portfolio entitled “Addressing Atlantic Ocean coastal resilience in practice”, aims to bring together existing projects working across different aspects of coastal resilience, to foster exchange, share ideas, identify synergies, and explore opportunities for collaboration and added impact.
Rather than focusing on a single topic, the Atlantic Ocean Regional Portfolio is structured around a set of complementary thematic areas, reflecting the integrated and cross-sectoral nature of coastal resilience and the role of innovative governance in its development and implementation.
To support the development of the Atlantic Ocean Regional Portfolio, the following sub-themes are intended to help interested projects identify where their work aligns with the portfolio topic and where opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and added impact may emerge.
Projects expressing interest to participate to the Atlantic Ocean Regional Portfolio must fit the scope of at least one of the sub-thematic areas of the portfolio topic, as described hereafter:
- Monitoring: Understanding Coastal Systems
- Anticipating: Future Risks and Pressures
- Decision Support: Enabling Inclusive and Evidence-Based Decisions
- Implementation: Delivering Coastal Resilience in Practice
