Droning maritime activities

Finistère is a key player in the development of autonomous marine and aerial drones, thanks to a dynamic ecosystem combining research, industry and test facilities. The region boasts major players such as CELADON SEA TEST BASE, which offers test platforms at sea, and the Centre Technique Drone Ouest, which specialises in maritime and defence applications. With cutting-edge laboratories such as Lab-STICC, Ifremer and ENSTA, Brest is positioned as a strategic innovation centre for the development of embedded technologies, autonomous sensors and underwater robotics. More information

Developing marine bioresources

Brittany, and Finistère in particular, is a leader in the development of marine resources, accounting for over a third of French jobs in the sector. The region is home to world-renowned research centres such as Ifremer, the Roscoff Biological Station and France Énergies Marines, which are developing innovations in blue biotechnologies, sustainable aquaculture and algae processing. Thanks to a network of specialist companies and clusters such as Blue Valley and the Algae Cluster, Brest offers a unique environment for start-ups looking to exploit the potential of marine bioresources. More information
