Senior Business Development Representative (12-month Contract)
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland (Hybrid)
Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer
Cathx Ocean is a global leader in subsea imaging and perception technology. Our cutting-edge solutions help organisations in offshore energy, environmental monitoring, and oceanographic research optimise subsea workflows.
The Role
CATHX are seeking a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to help build and accelerate our sales pipeline. This role is ideal for someone early in their career or looking to step up.
This is not a high-volume cold-calling role. The BDR will act as a “Trapper”, strategically identifying and engaging target accounts to create meaningful conversations that convert into qualified sales opportunities.
You’ll work closely with marketing and sales, using account research, tailored outreach, and HubSpot automation to engage the right stakeholders at the right time. If you thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and want to be part of a high-growth tech company, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline & Engagement
• Identify, research, and prioritise high-potential target accounts.
• Develop and execute personalised multi-channel outbound campaigns (email, LinkedIn, phone, video).
• Act as the first point of contact for potential customers, driving engagement and trust.
• Qualify leads against Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) criteria.
• Track engagement and maintain data integrity within HubSpot.
Sales Development
• Use intent data, prospect insights, and market trends to engage the right accounts.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales to refine personalised messaging and account outreach.
• Identify key decision-makers and engage them with thoughtful, value-driven communication.
• Work closely with sales leadership to ensure smooth lead handover and alignment on priorities.
Sales & Marketing Alignment
• Work with marketing to align demand generation efforts with outbound sales prospecting.
• Provide feedback on campaign effectiveness and refine messaging.
• Optimise lead qualification criteria and conversion strategies.
• Ensure seamless collaboration with sales, tracking pipeline progression and revenue impact.

• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple accounts.
Desirable (but not essential – we can teach you!):
• Some experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., sales, customer success, recruitment).
• Familiarity with LinkedIn outreach, email sequencing tools, or CRM systems like HubSpot.
• Understanding of B2B technology, software, or subsea markets.
