ÉireComposites is a small and dynamic company based in Inverin. ÉireComposites is involved in innovative design, manufacturing and testing using lightweight, high-performance fibre-reinforced composite materials.  We make composite parts and products for a range of sectors ranging from renewable energy, sports, marine to automotive sectors.

Manufacturing Technician

Main Duties include:

  • Manufacturing of wooden moulds and fixtures
  • Manufacture of steel frames
  • Manufacture of composite laminates
  • Support across all departments with the analysis of material samples
  • Working knowledge of boats and the marine industry
  • Ad hoc duties that may arise

Skills/Competencies:

  • Trade qualification in carpentry or other trade qualification
  • Experience in construction, setting out, fitting, or finishing.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of varios tooling and testing equipment
  • Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative
  • General problem-solving ability
  • Ability to read drawings

Core Job Requirements

  • Must be able to demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude, attention to detail, good problem solving, and self-motivation in completing assigned tasks
  • Work experience in a manufacturing team environment is preferred, although not essential
  • Individual will be required to be mobile, with frequent standing, bending, reaching, grasping, stooping and walking are requirements for role.
  • Excellent manual dexterity i.e., experience in carpentry/crafts/hairdresser/making things with your hands is preferrable although not essential
  • Full European/Irish Driver's License is required
  • Proficiency in the English language is required and good communication skills
  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent is preferred although not essential.

Industrial Manufacturing Operator

Responsibilities include:

The manufacturing operator is responsible for the assembly of a wide range of composite parts from saddles, wind turbines, boats to new research projects and parts/products.

  • Use of hand tools and hand skills are required.
  • Operate a range of machinery and equipment.
  • Will be taught manufacturing processes (kit materials, layup, vacuum bagging, sanding, grinding, and polishing).
  • Will be taught and signed off in all procedures, equipment, tools, drawings and how to complete relevant documentation.
  • Complete routine tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow company procedures, rules and meet H&S requirements.
  • Complete training in core job and other roles within company.
  • Undertake all other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Core Job Requirements:

Starting Salary: €26,000 per year.

R&D Engineer

As an Engineer at ÉireComposites, your deliverables will mainly include but are not limited to the below mentioned responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defining research agendas for the company.
  • Developing research proposals for organizations like the European Space Agency, the European Commission, and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.
  • Performing research activities and generating project reports.
  • Designing and manufacturing of cutting-edge composite parts.
  • Implementation of process control and quality management systems.
  • Working as part of the engineering team to plan and deliver projects.
  • Complete routine tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing and research functions.
  • Work in a cleanroom environment/industrial production area.
  • Undertake all other duties as assigned by engineering manager.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and to assist with manufacturing tasks as demands arise.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Full Driver’s EU / Irish License.
  • A technical or scientific degree from a leading university, preferably in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, design, or a similar field.
  • Good general technical skills and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • A target driven attitude with the desire to succeed.
  • Ability to travel to visit customers and attend trade shows.
  • A qualification in and or working knowledge of CAD desirable not essential.
  • A qualification in and or track record of Project Management desirable not essential.

Proposal Writer

ÉireComposites currently has a vacancy for a Proposal Writer. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing research and commercial proposals related to novel composite products. The role will require excellent technical writing skills as well as scientific and commercial acumen.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the writing and preparation of funding proposals, including those for Horizon Europe, Enterprise Ireland, SEAI, ESA and other programs.
  • Develop and implement a strategy that expands the company’s opportunities for securing funding and ensures a strong presence in the R&D/Innovation landscape.
  • Support the preparation of commercial bids for design, manufacture and testing of composites.
  • Take ownership of interactions with potential funding entities, consortium partners and writers, ensuring exceptional service is maintained throughout the process.
  • Cultivate and enhance strong, enduring relationships with potential funding partners by collaborating with them and understanding their project needs.
  • Present proposal outcomes, budgetary details, and expenditure reports, along with realistic forecasts, to the management team.
  • Stay informed about emerging opportunities in funding calls, recognise shifts in proposal requirements, and remain fully aware of new developments and competitors.
  • Actively participate in relevant events such as conferences, exhibitions, and company visits, to promote the company’s R&D capabilities.
  • Performing other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in proposal writing desired but not essential.
  • Fluency in Irish desired but not essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, act decisively, and to demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness.
  • European Driver’s License.
  • Graduates and early-stage career candidates will be considered.
  • Native english speaker
