Aquatech Community Development Manager
Cork (Hybrid) / Full-time

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of a coordinated National and EU wide outreach program to connect, promote, encourage, uncover and develop aquaculture technology firms and innovation to support and facilitate Ireland’s ambitions for the sector.
  • Plan and coordinate events to promote discussion and the further development of an Irish Aquatech eco-system by connecting all stakeholders and interested parties through workshops, events and / or industry meetings
  • Assist in identifying technologies / opportunities outside of the aquaculture sector that may have applications and solutions for the global seafood industry
  • Coordinate and lead the annual BIM Aquatech Innovation Studio activities from launch to completion along with the development of other high profile events, webinars etc
  • Attend national and EU related aquaculture events and fulfil speaking opportunities as appropriate to promote the Hatch / BIM initiative and Ireland’s aquatech capabilities and ambitions
  • Help develop and promote an innovative connected aquaculture community in order to drive innovation and develop the value of the sector nationally and to raise Ireland’s profile internationally as a key location for innovation
  • Create and foster a network of key relationships with key stakeholders within the aquaculture community to curate and identify early-stage ideas and concepts
  • Manage day to day office administration and be the centre-point of contact for the project
  • Report to Hatch Co-Founder & Partner, Ireland

Key / Ideal Requirements:

  • Experience, understanding and a background in Aquaculture / Marine / BlueTech space
  • 2+ years of relevant working experience in business development, event management, project management or similar field
  • Knowledge of the Irish aquaculture landscape
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently and proactively
  • Comfortable with tools like Google Drive, Keynote and Slack as well as occasionally working irregular hours
  • Flexibility and positive attitude are crucial
  • Fluent in English

Dealflow Coordinator
Cork (Hybrid) / Full-time

Key responsibilities:

  • Collect, collate and coordinate deal flow data for the Hatch team.
  • Use digital and non-digital platforms to discover new startups, scrap data and connect with the founders for information gathering purposes.
  • Manage the central repository of deal flow data, processing and enhancing the current dealflow data set and new inbound deal flow data streams.
  • Work across all Business Units to aggregate quality current data on the aquaculture start-up community, coordinating across all business units in the collection and collation with a view to being able to analyse, and report on deal flow data over time.
  • Deal flow data owner - Participate in improving and streamlining processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve deal flow data accuracy, viability, and value across all business units.
  • Prepare and maintain data in our CRM pertaining to deal flow, helping improve our deal flow operations and processes.
  • Monitor global aquaculture startup landscape and get a sense for where the next big thing in aquaculture is going to come from

Key / Ideal Requirements:

  • 2+ years of post-graduate experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computing, finance, business or similar
  • No prior aquaculture experience required but aquaculture background is a plus
  • Experience in data or portfolio management is a plus
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, with a high degree of professionalism in English

Financial Accountant (Sustainable Venture Capital)
Cork (Hybrid) / Full-time

Key responsibilities:

Working directly with the CFO, and in partnership with service providers, run day to day finance activities for the four Hatch business units with operations in four countries across three continents (Ireland, Norway, USA (Hawaii) and Singapore).

  • Fund management (Hatch Investments)
  • Consulting (Hatch Innovation Services)
  • Programs and accelerator (Hatch Programs)
  • Publishing (The Fish Site)

This is a hands-on role covering all aspects of the finance function. The team is evolving rapidly, and so there will be a broad range of responsibilities including:

  • Financial reporting (management and statutory) & control
  • Treasury management
  • Financial planning & analysis
  • Tax administration in collaboration with service providers
  • Liaising with external providers - accountants, banks, auditors, lawyers

Key / Ideal Requirements:

We want a rounded, detail-oriented individual with good technical as well as interpersonal skills. In particular, the following skills are sought:

  • Qualified Accountant, ideally with 1-2 years of post-qualification experience
  • Excellent technical skills, in particular with Excel, comfortable using a variety of accounting systems. Comfortable distilling and manipulating data
  • Is self-motivated and good communicator – your daily contacts will be spread across 3 continents and many different time zones
  • Highly process-driven, great attention to detail and highly organised
  • Willing to travel - 2-4 trips per year would be expected
  • A curious mind
  • Fluency in English
  • Authorisation to work in Ireland
