Irish Software Start-up ReaDI-Watch Launches into Canadian Market

ReaDI-Watch, an Irish software start-up which has developed a digital framework to enable businesses to make informed and best-practice decisions in managing their R&D and Innovation activities, has announced its launch into the Canadian market.

The company made the announcement in Toronto during a roundtable business event it hosted with Enterprise Ireland Canada in the lead up to St. Patrick’s Day, which was attended by Leo Clancy, CEO, Enterprise Ireland.

ReaDI-Watch, founded in 2021 and headquartered at NovaUCD in Dublin, has developed a data-driven platform to help companies embrace and unlock their R&D and Innovation potential. Using the ReaDI-Watch platform companies can move from retrospectively reviewing R&D and Innovation in their business to win R&D tax credit claims or draw down grant supports, to addressing the topic in real-time, with seamless management tools for innovation, R&D, technology development, intellectual property, grant funding and R&D tax credits, all in the one platform.

Having already grown a strong customer base of innovative Irish companies across the technology, manufacturing, engineering and software sectors with clients such as Equal1, MagrowTec and Mincon, ReaDI-Watch identified Canada as a key strategic North American market. Last year company CEO and co-founder, Dave Byrne temporarily relocated to Toronto to lay the foundations for today’s announcement and to identify partners and customers.

Dave Byrne, CEO and co-founder, ReaDI-Watch said, “I am delighted to formally announce the launch of ReaDI-Watch into the Canadian market and I would like to thank Enterprise Ireland for their continuing support.”

He added, “The R&D and Innovation landscape in Canada has significant similarities to Ireland and the UK. Between the research & innovation ecosystem players, the innovation and R&D government supports, R&D tax credits (SR&ED) and the need for Canadian-owned businesses to innovate to improve productivity, ReaDI-Watch has seen Canada as a key strategic market since we incorporated. I now look forward to hiring our first Canadian team members.”

He concluded, “Our goal at ReaDI-Watch through our platform is to help companies, in Ireland, Canada and around the world, to increase their return on RD&I investment, to help them to navigate more easily the R&D tax credit and grant funding landscapes, so that they can unlock their full potential and to increase the level of collaboration in the science and technology transfer space.”

Lydia Rogers, Country Manager and SVP, Enterprise Ireland, Canada said, “Enterprise Ireland is delighted to support ReaDI-Watch in their mission of helping companies to embrace innovation and R&D to unlock their potential.

The innovation and R&D challenges addressed by ReaDI-Watch and their platform resonates strongly with the strategy and focus of Enterprise Ireland, both in Ireland and now as the company has launched in Canada. We look forward to seeing the impact of ReaDI-Watch in the Canadian market.”

Earlier this month, ReaDI-Watch was named winner of an Emerging New Business Award at the 2023 Small Firms Association (SFA) National Small Business Awards.

The ReaDI-Watch roundtable event entitled, “Strengthening Innovation and R&D in SME’s at Pace and Scale in 2023”, was held at the Fairmont Hotel, Toronto and was attended by representatives from innovative Irish and Canadian companies, academia, R&D tax practices, policy makers from Ontario and Federal Canadian governments and Enterprise Ireland.
