Workshop invitation - European Commission - Study on underwater unexploded munition

The ICF have been appointed by the European Commission's European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) to carry out a 'Study on underwater unexploded munition'.

As part of the study, we are hosting an online workshop with national/military authorities, private sector (i.e. fisheries, transport/tourism, engineering/infrastructure organisations), and the research community to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of underwater unexploded munition risks and best practices in their removal.

The aim of the workshop is for the selected stakeholders, ICF and the European Commission to have an open and creative discussion on the existing problems with current dumped munitions at sea and to identify potential solutions. We are writing to invite you, or someone nominated by your organisation, to participate in this workshop and share your perspective and ideas.

The workshop will take place online on 29 November, 9:30–14:30 CET.

You can register for the workshop by filling in this online form by 26 November, or by replying to sunken_munitions@icf.com with the name and email address of the person who will represent your organisation at the workshop. They will then be sent a preparatory information package and the dial-in details for the call.

If you have any questions please contact sunken_munitions@icf.com or the ICF Project Manager (Fabrizio Costantino, fabrizio.costantino@icf.com).

In addition, please note that the deadline for the online survey has also be extended until 29 November COB. The survey is available online here.
