Smart Maritime Challenge 2025

Competitors wanted for the event!

We are looking for experienced cybersecurity professionals from the Irish Offshore Renewable Energy industry sector to participate. No previous CTF experience is needed as you will be briefed on the day on how to participate. The challenge has been developed by MTU by Airbus & gives you an opportunity to use our state-of-the art cyber security lab & Airbus CyberRange equipment.

Simulated Event Context

The Port of Cork has just been the victim of a major cyberattack by a group of hackers using sophisticated techniques. The port's information systems have been completely paralysed, but that's not all. A simultaneous attack was also carried out on a ship at the entrance to the port, totally paralysing it and blocking all incoming and outgoing traffic. Working in teams your task is to understand the attack, regain control of the ship and help Europol to identify the lead hacker.
