Postponed - Enterprise Ireland Offshore Wind Forum, in partnership with Wind Energy Ireland
Due to the rising Covid cases in Ireland and the emergence of the new Omicron variant, Enterprise Ireland has had to make the decision not to run any face to face events in Q1 of 2022. As a result we are postponing the Enterprise Ireland Offshore Wind Forum that was scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of February 2022. Enterprise Ireland will let you know of the new date as soon as possible. We appreciate that this is a disappointment for everyone (we have had a great deal of positive feedback about the event) and it is very frustrating from our perspective.
While a virtual event is an option, we are convinced that a face to face event holds a great deal more value and we will let you know as soon as we have a new date confirmed – please note that it will be January 2022 before we make a decision on this.
This in person event will convene the Irish offshore wind supply chain with industry stakeholders from across the Irish, UK and global offshore wind markets.
On day one, the primary focus will be on the UK market. We will take a close look at the UK’s industry ambition, investment and project pipelines, supply chain requirements and innovation priorities. We will also hear directly from developers, tier one contractors and stakeholders active in the UK market alongside input from Irish SMEs with relevant capability for the UK market. Discussions will centre around the UK’s 2030 40GW ambition, the role of innovation in the sector, the growing role of floating offshore wind as well as some of the key challenges facing the UK offshore wind industry.
For UK industry, this will be an excellent opportunity to meet with the Irish supply chain and to understand how Irish expertise and innovation can help you to deliver your projects effectively.
On day two, the focus will switch to the domestic Irish market. Attendees will receive updates on Ireland’s project timelines and locations. Developers of Irish Sea projects will provide updates on relevant projects and how Irish SMEs can become supply chain partners. Looking at the long term potential for offshore wind in Ireland, the event will also examine the progress on floating offshore wind and the complementary energy storage possibilities around green hydrogen. The critical role that Irish ports can play in the industry will also be examined. Irish SMEs will showcase their innovative capabilities through a series of elevator pitches throughout the two day event.
