AWESDI Community Forum on Wave Energy Deployment
The forum is part of the AWESDI project (Atlantic Wave Energy Sustainable Deployment Initiative), which aims to accelerate wave energy deployment across the Interreg Atlantic Area.
The Community Forum will provide an opportunity to:
- Share an accessible overview of the current status of wave energy in Ireland and the Atlantic region.
- Discuss opportunities and concerns for local communities, fishery and seafood sectors, ports, tourism, environmental interests, industry and policymakers.
Collect stakeholder views on key questions such as:
- What is the current reality of wave energy development?
- What are the main barriers, risks and uncertainties?
- Under what conditions would pilot projects be appropriate in Ireland?
- What kinds of collaboration, governance and engagement are needed?
