Aquaculture UK

Aquaculture UK brings together the people and companies driving the future of aquaculture. Discover the latest innovations transforming aquaculture - from AI and robotics to smart fish farming and semi-closed and closed containment systems. Hear from industry experts on improving fish health and welfare, advances in genetics, alternative feeds, and new developments in RAS, waste recycling, and hybrid energy solutions. With technology reshaping fish farming at pace, Aquaculture UK is where you stay ahead of the curve and ahead of the competition.

More than 250 exhibitors from over 25 countries will fill the show floor. Joining established national pavilions from Denmark, Canada and Chile are two exciting new additions – Norway, represented by pioneers including Aquabyte, Optoscale, Aquapredict and Salsnes Filter, and Ireland, with suppliers such as Nova Q, Mooney Boats, Aquamonitrix and Celtic Sea Minerals among those making the trip.

First-time exhibitors add further depth. Aberdeen-based Subsea Commercial Services showcases its autonomous eDNA Automated Sampler; Salar Solutions presents Smoltscreen, its net pen lining protecting salmon against lice, jellyfish and algal blooms; and underwater technology specialists Sonardyne explore the future of autonomous marine robotics. Marine engine suppliers Yamaha Motor Europe and Royston also make their show debuts.

The new Innovation Zone puts the spotlight on the freshest ideas in the sector, with Edinburgh Innovations showcasing technologies from the University of Edinburgh – including MiAlgae, the start-up producing fish-free omega 3 from algae using whisky by-products. In the Innovation Theatre, TidalX will present its ‘autonomous pen’, an all-in-one robotic platform providing continuous monitoring of welfare, sea lice, growth and behaviour.

Alongside the newcomers, the industry’s biggest names will be out in force – from Inverlussa Marine Services, Scale AQ, Gael Force Group and Akva Group, to pharmaceutical giants MSD Animal Health and Pharmaq, feed companies BioMar and Cargill, and the Institute of Aquaculture, fresh from opening one of Europe’s most advanced RAS and flow-through research platforms.

The free-to-attend keynote conference programme runs across both days, with a speaker line-up that reflects the full breadth of the industry. Helge Adne Lien, Managing Director of Norway’s DNB Bank, brings a financier’s perspective on salmon farming’s risks and opportunities. Industry veteran Dr Martin Jaffa tackles one of aquaculture’s most contested debates in his talk ‘Are sea lice guilty as charged?’ Mowi’s senior environmental analyst Laura Tulip reports on operational eDNA deployment across Mowi farms, while BioMar UK Technical Director John Tinsley leads a panel on the future of feed — examining AI, GM and regenerative agriculture. SAIC and the National Robotarium jointly explore the potential of robotics, AI and machine learning for fish farmers, and the Institute of Aquaculture’s scientists present the latest research into disease resistance, sea lice detection and environmental monitoring.
