6th International Marine Protected Areas Congress (IMPAC6)

IMPAC (International Marine Protected Areas Congress) is the world's largest forum dedicated to marine protected areas. Co-organized by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and the host country, it brings together thousands of marine conservation professionals.

The event combines scientific sessions, practical workshops, high-level forums and exchange spaces to inform, inspire and act for the protection of the oceans. Each edition produces statements and recommendations influencing marine conservation policies globally.

For IMPAC6, Senegal and IUCN are partnering to put the voice of Africa and coastal communities at the center of the debates, with an ambitious agenda focused on participatory governance and the sustainable blue economy.
